Associations Between Natives and European Explorers/Settlers

The indigenous Natives and the Western european explorers of the 16th and 17th 100 years were two very different and distinct groups of people. The Native Americans had been usually peaceful until endangered. Although they would not have very much technology, that they knew the land well and applied their solutions very effectively. On the other hand, the European settlers, though more advanced as a civilization, proved a bit more violent and greedy. When the first arrived on the shores, they were inadequately equipped and had to take advantage of the natives to get resources. This kind of pattern founded the basic romantic relationship between the two groups-one domineering and purpose on materialistic gain at any cost, and the other, rather trusting to the true impact of sharing all their world having a culture depending on absolute control. These elements played an important role in the collisions involving the indigenous people and the European settlers. The many cultural dissimilarities between the Native Americans and the Euro settlers could be the primary reason for constant rupture, confrontations, and miscommunications.

The Western settlers had distinct qualities that collection them in addition to the indigenous Natives. The Europeans were quite often thirsty for power and open to new opportunity.
